New design provides excellent performance across full HF spectrum and can be used anywhere there is a need to transform 12.5 ohms balanced to 50 ohms unbalanced.  This balun utilizes 2 individually wound low impedance 1:1 baluns with hand made coax windings which are then cross connected to create a 1:4 ratio. By custom making the coax, we are able to wind each core with a single piece coax for best performance. This balun is great for matching low impedance antennas such as Cobwebs and NVIS dipoles mounted close to ground level. 

Although this unit would appear to be a simple build, the coax used for the windings must be separately hand crafted to achieve the low impedance necessary for the correct transformation.  Due to the complexity and custom nature of this build, please allow up to one week for production of this unit.




  Core Material   Custom mix low permeability ferrite by Fair Rite Products for maximum bandwidth.
  Cores are coated and sealed for long term durability.
  Winding Type   Two individually would cores utilizing custom low impedance coax.  Cores are then cross connected to create final 1:4 transformation.
