For those of you who own one of the fine tuners manufactured by Drake, this is a balun that can be easily installed on your existing PC board in place of the original windings. If you do not currently own a B-1000 balun, you can elect to mount this balun on perf board and running wire leads to the mounting studs. Not only do you receive a balun capable of much more power, you also benefit from the enhanced performance this custom winding provides.
If you do not have the original PC board for the Drake balun, we can supply the unit with 2" leads that can be connected directly to the tuner's existing attachments screws. In this type of install, we recommend using a small piece of perf board to hold the balun for attachment to the back of your tuner. Please be sure to indicate the need for these long leads in the Comment section during checkout.
The balun comes completely wound with tinned leads and ready to be soldered to the connection pads of your PC board. Only a screwdriver and 100 watt soldering iron are required for installation. If you prefer not to do the installation, Balun Designs can install the uprade for $5.00 additional. Please call to make arrangements.
