Excellent broadband balun that can be used anywhere there is a need to transform 75 ohms balanced to 50 ohms unbalanced. Its most common use is at the feedpoint of monoband dipoles that have an impedance of 72-75 ohms.  This is a two stage unit with a 75 ohm 1:1 current balun wound on the large toroid to generate high levels of RF choking impedance and conversion of the signal from balanced to unbalanced .  The output of the balun is then fed into a 1.5:1 unun for impedance reduction to a 50 ohm unbalanced feedline.



  Core Material   Custom mix low permeability ferrite by Fair Rite Products for maximum bandwidth.
  Cores are coated and sealed for long term durability.
  Winding Type   Two separate windings. Large toroid is 1:1 balun designed at 75 ohms impedance.
  Winding is 14 gauge Thermaleze wire inserted in teflon tubes.
  Small core is trifilar wind of thermaleze wire creating a 1.5:1 Unun providing the impedance
  transformation from 75 ohms to 50 ohms unbalanced.
  Winding Material   Essex heavy build polyamideimide Allex 240 Winding Wire 
  Standard wall Teflon tubing.
  Power Rating   1.5 to 35 MHz - 3kW
  All ratings based on resonant load. High SWR will reduce power handling ability.
