Our new design is perfect for matching both long and short length wire antennas for multiband use. When used with the stated lengths shown in the table below, the 9:1 ratio will allow the internal tuner of most rigs to easily match remotely mounted single wire antennas.
For additional versatility, the 4:1 ratio will handle any random, non resonant length of wire which can then be matched using an ATU or many internal tuners. Plus this ratio is commonly used to increase performance of 19, 31 and 43 foot multiband verticals. Unfortunately, both ratios cannot be used simultaneously.
Due to the proprietary nature of this design, we have elected not to show an image of the internal windings. However, you can be confident the construction is the same high quality as all other units built by Balun Designs.
Ununs are intended for use with unbalanced antennas such as verticals and long wires.
They will not work with balanced designs such as dipoles or loops and use with a balanced antenna may cause damage to the unit.
